About The Episode
This week we are going to continue the discussion surrounding synthetic media and deepfakes, but look a little more specifically into the negative aspects, as well as the future repercussions of this technology becoming ubiquitous. As Raymond and I focus on the more pernicious aspects of deepfakes this episode we do look at some specific recent examples that I think highlight the need for a better understanding and awareness of this technology, and why more jobs in deepfake detection will be required as time goes on.
About The Guest
My guest this week is Raymond Lee, the founder of FakeNetAI, a Berkeley based startup developing deepfake detection technology. Prior to FakeNetAI, he spent 8 years in business analyst roles for an energy company and a biotech company. He then went on to pursue his master’s in data science at the UC Berkeley School of Information, where he immersed himself in developing machine learning models to detect deepfakes, leading to the creation of FakeNetAI.
