Deepfakes, Synthetic Media, And The Future Of Content Creation

Guest: Victor Riparbelli of Synthesia Technologies
Episode #38
Duration: 43:17 Mins
Release Date: 14/09/2020

About The Episode

This week’s episode explores deepfake technology, which I know a few of you listeners already know about. However as you will hear in today’s discussion, deepfakes are actually part of a larger trend of Synthetic media, or media that has been created with AI’s help.

I am joined by Victor Riparbelli CEO and co-founder of Synthesia technologies to discuss this topic and shed some light on the future of how content will be created in the future and what impacts we can expect.

Personally, I really enjoyed this conversation. Victor clearly lays out the possible benefits and negative repercussions of synthetic media in an easy to digest way. And his enthusiasm for the subject was quite contagious as it became more and more clear what this trend will hold in the near future. I hope you think the same while listening.

About The Guest

As I mentioned Victor is the CEO and co-founder of Synthesia, a London-based AI startup developing Synthetic Media technology that enables companies to localize and personalize their video content. Prior to founding Synthesia Victor has been involved in technology entrepreneurship for the last 10 years and has been involved in building products across many industries. His work in the VR/AR sector inspired him to apply similar technologies to video production leading to Synthesia’s founding in 2017.
